This is a new icon which is used whenever an expansion set is linked to. An expansion set is a set of files that will further aid the reader in learning. They include final executables, supporting source code, and a copy of the tutorial in Adobe Acrobat .PDF format so it's easily printed out!
This icon is used to link to PDF versions of tutorials. PDF files are read using Adobe Acrobat, all versions are made to be compatable with 2.x and higher.
This icon is used to link to executable files. These archives only contain the neccessary files to run a program.
This is used to mark items which will be finished on future updates. They give the reader an idea of where the tutorials are progressing, and also generates interest, ideas, and questions.
This is used to mark tutorials which are new to the site. Items are usually marked new for ~3 updates. If the updates come earlier or more frequent than usual, the site will remain new for the normal period of time.
This icon is used to note that a tutorial has been updated. With every publishing, some tutorials are modified slightly, spelling errors corrected etc. Under those circumstances, this icon will not be used, because this is just considered maintenance. It is usually used when new graphics are published and / or the layout has been re-arranged.
<Not used yet> This icon is used to link to any additional information that is available on a certain topic.
This is just my personal signature :)
Now this is an interesting story! I use notepad.exe for all of my web programming (html and javascript). I was working on a particularly long tutorial when it started beeping at me and saying that it ran out of memory! I had hit the max, the threshhold, the do not cross line. I think it was the DMA tutorial that busted it :) I ended up using wordpad.exe to finish it :)
